THE FIELD GUIDE

What stays between runs.

A new run is not necessarily a lost save. Separate persistent equipment from the battle you are currently playing.

What our save test established

In the tested Act I build, the game states that the current run is not saved, while items and gold are kept. We equipped a Leather Armor drop, checked that Damage Reduced became 5%, and chose Save and exit. The armor and the 5% value were still present after refreshing the iframe and after refreshing the entire local test page.

Verified: one meaningful equipment change survived two types of refresh in the same browser and localhost embedding context. Not verified in that session: nonzero gold, browser restart, a different browser, cross-device transfer or the production embedding domain.
Inventory after reloading the local page, with the equipped armor still visible
Equipment recovery after full-page reload in the local test. The current run reset, while the equipped armor remained.

How to leave safely

  1. Open inventory and note an identifiable equipped item or value.
  2. Press Esc and choose Save and exit game.
  3. Wait for the title screen before leaving the tab.
  4. Return through the same browser profile and website. Check inventory rather than the old run timer.

Why browser and website context matter

The original game runs on another domain. Your browser controls whether and how that embedded origin can use storage, and some browsers partition storage by the site containing the iframe. Progress seen here may therefore differ from progress seen when opening the original game directly. Private browsing, browser cleanup or a different profile can also change what is available.

Our page does not read or modify the game’s storage. We do not provide accounts, cloud saves, save export, imports or cross-device synchronization. Do not clear site data as a first troubleshooting step.

If progress seems to be missing

First check whether only the run timer, position or run-specific upgrades have reset. That matches the tested Act I notice. Next check your equipment in the same profile and embedding site you used before. Opening the original site is a way to test access, not a guaranteed way to transfer a save. See save troubleshooting before taking further action.

Gold and later acts

The original notice describes gold persistence, but the test balance remained zero; we cannot claim an independent gold test from that evidence. We also do not generalize the Act I result to later acts or future builds without another test.

Your analytics preference

Analytics measures this outer website, not game outcomes or saves. Your choice does not change the original game’s analytics.
